A rotary premade pouch packing machine (also called a doypack machine) fills and seals pouches that are already made and printed. It picks a pouch, opens it, fills it, prints a date code, can vacuum it, and heat-seals it — automatically. Grippers carry each pouch around a rotary table from station to station; in Taiwan the trade calls it the “octopus machine” (八爪機). A compact mini model is also available.
How it works
- Pick — takes an empty pouch from the magazine.
- Open — suction cups open the pouch (stand-up and zipper pouches).
- Fill — a weigher, feeder or liquid pump doses the product.
- Date code — prints the production date or batch number.
- Vacuum — removes air before sealing, for products that need it.
- Seal — heat-seals the pouch and discharges the finished pack.
It can be paired with different weighers and feeders, configured to your product.
What can it pack?
| Product type | Examples | Filling |
|---|---|---|
| Dry goods, granules, solids | Tea, coffee beans, rice and grains, nuts, candy and snacks, cookies, dried fruit, jerky, mullet roe, braised snacks | Weigher, feeder |
| Powders | Ground coffee, spices, herbal powders | Filler chosen to suit the powder |
| Liquids and sauces | Soy sauce, ketchup, chili sauce, peanut butter, honey, jam, broth, chicken essence, juice | Dosing pump and feed module |
| Non-food | Screws and hardware, pills and tablets, bird feed, shampoo, detergent | Configured to the product |
What can be packed depends on viscosity and configuration. Tell us what you pack, which pouch you use and how many packs a day — we will match the setup.
Premade pouch machine vs VFFS
| Premade pouch machine | VFFS (vertical form-fill-seal) | |
|---|---|---|
| Bags | Premade, pre-printed pouches | Formed from roll film on the machine |
| Pouch styles | Stand-up, zipper and vacuum pouches — retail-ready | Mainly pillow bags and 3-side seal |
| Vacuum | Available | Usually not |
| Changeover | Load a different pouch | Change film and forming tube |
| Best for | Shelf products where looks and freshness matter | High volume, single format, lowest film cost |
Both have their place. If a machine isn't right for you, we won't recommend it — send us your product and we can run a test for you.
Standard vs mini model
| Standard model | Mini model | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | Same premade pouch process: pick, open, fill, date code, vacuum, seal | |
| Footprint | Standard size | Less than half the size of a standard machine |
| Best for | Steady output and long continuous runs | Small and mid-size lines, limited floor space, first step into automation |
